A Performance by the Middlebury College Salsa and Swing Clubs
This is a collaborative performance showcasing the various partner and ballroom dances (with a special opening performance from On Tap).
The various swing dance styles originated and were popularized throughout the early 20th century in places such as Harlem, Charleston, and Los Angeles. The Swing Club will be performing dances in Lindy Hop, East Coast, and Charleston styles, as well as classic solo jazz routines. The Salsa Club will be performing two salsa pieces, a bachata piece, and a sensual bachata piece. This show is a fundraiser in collaboration with go/refuge to raise money for the Vermont Refugee Resettlement Program.
Special thanks to all of the performers, the tech crew, Facilities, and Student Activities for making it all happen!
Produced by Isabella Cass, Hamza Alsarhan, and Jeremy Vandenberg
