What You Need to Know About the VA’s 5 Year Disability Rule

Under the 5 Year Rule it becomes much more difficult for the VA to suspend your benefits or even lower your rating. After a five-year period, your rating is considered a stabilized rating and cannot be changed unless there is a substantial improvement in your condition or if you have made a complete recovery from your disability.
