First, let's talk about how 🔥🔥🔥 BOTH the Talking Head's "Once In a Lifetime" and Jay-Z's "It's Alright" featuring Memphis Bleek are! I can't get enough of both songs - to this day!

As soon as I heard "It's Alright" in the late 90s, I recognized the sample. I used to see the "Once In a Lifetime" video on MuchMusic as a kid and teen. I always loved "Once In a Lifetime" - especially the instrumental, though I appreciate the clever lyrics - but as a little kid, the video used to scare me 😂. Not enough to look away or change the channel, but David Byrne's dance moves were a bit jarring to me as a young child. And I didn't quite understand (and still don't) why he was sweating so much 🤣🤣 (no shade 😎)

Now as an adult, I fully appreciate Mr. Byrne's authentic self-expression in moving however he felt he wanted to. Watching people dance without a care, is one of my favourite things to do.

To top it off, I was TODAY YEARS OLD when I learned that Toni Basil co-directed the "Once In a Lifetime" video with David Byrne! What???! Toni Basil is a LEGEND, still to this day, still breaking, popping and locking at age 81. If you love dance, you MUST look her up! I literally can't with how DOPE she is.
