The Hilarious Baptism Gone Wrong: Who’s at Fault in This Mormon Mission Story?

Here’s a funny and unexpected story from my time as a Mormon missionary in Washington DC in the 1990s. We had scheduled a baptism for a 9-year-old boy named Johnny, whose parents weren’t very active in the LDS Church. When his grandfather was assigned to perform the baptism, things took a turn! As we gathered around the font, Johnny started hopping around like a frog, taunting his grandpa. Frustrated, Grandpa yelled, "If you don’t come over here right now, I’ll hold you under!" And that’s when Johnny yelled back, “Oh yeah? If you hold me under, I’ll punch you in the balls!” Now, here’s the question: Who's in the wrong here? Me for being involved? Johnny for threatening his grandpa? Or Grandpa for threatening to hold him under during the baptism? Let me know what you think in the comments!
