Visiting a German Monastery // Kloster Lorsch

Visiting an old German monastery (Lorsch Kloster) located near Heppenheim was a pleasant experience.
Traveling through Germany and Europe offers great destinations to visit. The beaches and islands of northern Germany are fabulous to visit, the south of Germany and the mountains are superb for winter sports, skiing and snowboarding. The summer also offers great hiking opportunities.
The first recorded name of Lorsch abbey had been around the 8th century. This abbey suffered severe damage during the 30 year war and was heavily pillaged by the Spanish in 1621. The oldest building is the kings hall which seems to have survived partially but the rest had been burned down over the years.
