Hazardous Area Electric Protection Methods
If your facility has Hazardous Areas rated Div 1 or Div 2, this two-part presentation is for you. During part 1, after a quick recap on Hazardous Area rules and classifications, we’ll explore America’s most common method for protecting electrical equipment in a hazardous area – Explosion Proof (also called FlameProof). We’ll dispel some of the confusion surrounding the rules, and go through some of the reasons people like it, but also where mistakes are commonly made that put lives and equipment at risk.
