CRAIG BREWER finds MARVELOUS MARV THRONEBERRY CBS Sunday Morning Interview

This is a CBS SUNDAY MORNING piece on my granddad Marv Throneberry.

Marvelous Marv Throneberry was born in Fisherville, Tennessee in 1933. He was an impressive athlete as a young man. He signed as an amateur free agent with New York Yankees at the age of 19. He played for the Kansas City Athletics, the Baltimore Orioles, and the New York Mets.

When I was growing up, I just knew him as the guy on all those Miller Lite Beer commercials. He was quite a personality. He was self-deprecating, funny, and loving. I miss him.

Marv died of cancer in 1994.
