Do Protective Masks Really Keep You Safe? Uncovering the Truth

This world is getting wild. These past few years there certainly has been a trend of serious disasters:

The train derailment in Montgomery County, PA prompting a Level 2 HAZMAT Response, and of course the train derailment in East Palestine, OH prompting a controlled release of toxic fumes. 
On our nation's highways, big rig accidents over the past 10 years involving hazardous materials have jumped 2 1/2 times, an increase of 155%.
The 2018 Paradise, CA wildfire.
The 2023 Lahaina, HI wildfire.
As well as natural disasters:
The 2021 earthquake in Carson, CA that released a toxin, hydrogen sulfide, reached levels that were 230 times higher than the state's safety standard.
Civil Unrest:
I am sure you all know what is happening on our college campuses. Tear gas, pepper spray, and homemade biologics
These are just to name a few. Any sound emergency plan includes adequate supplies of water and food, medical supplies (and the knowledge to use them), means to communicate, as well as evacuation routes and shelter in place options. These all should be common sense approaches to your plan. But something you may not have thought of, gas masks.

That's right, gas masks. Now of course there is no telling how many lives would have been saved from the aforementioned disasters had gas masks been used. However I am sure those unfortunate souls that were in those situations would have loved the ability to breathe, and in doing so would have had a better chance at living.

It is crucial for families to be prepared for chemical, biological, and nuclear (CBN) disasters. In the event of CBN incidents or other disasters, quick and informed actions can save lives, minimize injuries, and reduce the long-term impact on family members' health and safety. Preparation also instills a sense of resilience, confidence, and readiness to face unforeseen challenges, ensuring families can better navigate and recover from emergencies effectively.

Having a gas mask falls into the category of I would rather have it and not need it then need it and not have it.
