New Buddha statue brings 'peace and reflection' to NYC’s High Line
A towering new Buddha statue is now part of New York City’s skyline. FOX 5’s Christal Young visits the High Line to take a closer look at “The Light That Shines Through the Universe,” a 27-foot-tall sculpture that now stands above 10th Avenue.
The piece, created for High Line Art, is meant to inspire peace and compassion. In this segment, viewers learn about the meaning behind the sculpture, including its hands made from melted artillery shells, and how the massive installation was transported from Vietnam and assembled in New York.
