a man
without any pride
who was hurt many years ago

he feels
nothing inside
as he lights his last cigarette
for tonight

the smoke
fills this empty place
a tear is running
over his face

he's a broken man
he's a lonely man
and he ain't got
anywhere to go

she
walks through the door
and right to him 'cause she knows
what he's cryin' for

now he
falls into her arms
suddenly he forgets
all of his harms

he feels much better now
'cause he is with her now
'cause now he's got
somewhere to go
