These Ancient Chinese Food Hacks Will Keep You Cool This Summer
Summer is coming! These three traditional Chinese food hacks are said to have medicinal effects that help you cool down on a hot summer day. What sort of magic is this!? Meet Chrysanthemum and Goji tea, Suan Mei Tang (酸梅汤) and Lü Dou Tang (绿豆汤).

► Chrysanthemum + Goji Berry tea
5g dried chrysanthemum flowers
5g goji berries
300g hot water
► Lü Dou Tang: Mung Bean Porridge (绿豆汤)
100g dried mung beans
100ml water
1l water
2 tsp vinegar
1 Tbsp rock sugar (just a bit; optional)
► Suan Mei Tang: Sour Plum Drink (酸梅汤)
50g smoked plums (乌梅) - use dried apricots or salted ume instead
75g dried hawthorne
7g dried orange peel
7g liquorice root
15g hibiscus flower (or 2 bags unscented fruit tea like rose hip, 🇩🇪 Hagebuttentee)
2l water
1 tsp salt
100g yellow rock sugar
1 Tbsp dried osmanthus flower
1/2 Tbsp dried mint
