Most people have no idea how a song was actually recorded 130 years ago. They literally carved it into wax. No [music] electricity, no microphone, just a man, a metal horn, and his voice. He sings into this giant horn. The sound waves travel down, hit a needle, and that needle physically carves his voice into a spinning wax cylinder. Every word, every breath, permanently [music] etched. When he's done, they lift that cylinder and play it back on a phonograph just like this one. And what comes out is him.
