Jessica’s Story: Regaining Independence After a Spinal Cord Inquiry

Four years ago, after a night out with friends, Jessica, an ambitious full-time college student and young mom, hit a roadside construction zone after falling asleep at the wheel. Her car flipped four times. When she awoke, doctors told her she suffered a spinal cord injury. Bound to a wheelchair, her legs didn't move, her hands “didn't work,” she couldn't feed or dress herself. Today, because of her hard work and determination, and support from the Goodwill Fitness Center, Jessica regained her independence and quality of life.
