APC Senate Primaries Hold Peacefully Across States

The All Progressives Congress has commenced senatorial primaries across Nigeria’s 109 senatorial districts as aspirants seek to emerge as the party’s candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In Nasarawa State, party members gathered at Lukumanu Islamiyya Primary School for the Nasarawa South senatorial exercise, with former Inspector General of Police Abubakar Adamu and former Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe among the aspirants.

In Sokoto State, the affirmation of Umar Ajiya Isa for Sokoto East Senatorial District was reported to be peaceful, with Minister of State for Works Muhammad Bello Goronyo in attendance.

Meanwhile, in Borno State, Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan emerged as the consensus candidate for Borno Central Senatorial District, while Muntari Muhammad Dandutse emerged as the consensus candidate for Katsina South in Katsina State.

In Bayelsa State, the exercise was described as peaceful across the three senatorial districts, with Governor Douye Diri commending the orderly conduct of the process in Kolokuma/Opokuma area of Bayelsa Central.
