How to stop hating your readers? | Galina Timchenko | TEDxLasnamäe
Galina Timchenko is founder and CEO of the independent news project Meduza. In 2004-2014 she worked as the chief editor of the leading Russian online edition Lenta.ru. Under the leadership of Timchenko Lenta.ru has reached its peak, becoming one of the most visited European news sites. In an effort to attract more "clicks", modern media is not averse to use speculative headlines and replication of "scandalous" material, thus treating their audience as the greatest foe, while in fact media can not live without a reader. Timchenko claims that the only way for media to exist is to be fully devoted to the audience. This speech is a great reminder to all media workers about who they are and why (and for whom) they do it.
