At least 14 Dead, Over 150 Hospitalised In Indore After Drinking Contaminated Water

Infrastructure failure led to a public health crisis in a residential area. In December 2025, at least 14 people died in Indore’s Bhagirathpura area from contaminated municipal water. This included a six-month-old and six women. Over 2,000 fell ill. 162 were hospitalised. The contamination stemmed from a pipeline leak near a toilet. This led to suspensions, a probe, and compensation announcements.
