“Crappie Survived the Freeze on Lake Okeechobee (And Still Bit)”

Lake Okeechobee crappie fishing in Florida after a massive overnight cold front. Temperatures dropped more than 40 degrees, falling from the mid-70s down to near freezing, with early morning temps around 32°. Wind was up, conditions were rough, and this was not the bite we expected — but the crappie showed up.

In this video we’re fishing shallow grass on Lake Okeechobee, jigging through tough winter conditions and adapting on the fly. Cold fronts like this usually shut fish down, but sometimes Florida does Florida things. This trip turned into a full-on adventure, grinding it out, making adjustments, and seeing how crappie react when the weather turns overnight.
