Whether you like it or not, McGowan, 'you're part of a country': Paul Murray
Sky News host Paul Murray says “emperor Mark McGowan” is the worst premier in the country today and wants the federal government to keep paying welfare “to justify his decision” to keep Western Australians locked in the state.
His comment comes after Premier Mark McGowan on Thursday said there was no benefit in opening the Western Australian border to the rest of the country.
“The rest of the country that your Medicare card also works in,” Mr Murray said.
“The rest of the country that your passport actually works in.
“There may be no benefit, but there’s also no risk.
“What’s the excuse for not opening the door to COVID free South Australia, the Northern Territory, Queensland, Tasmania? There’s none.
“Whether you like it or not, you’re part of a country.
“The country should be able to interact with itself.”
Mr Murray said WA’s Chief Health Officer Andrew Robertson told the federal court there was a one per cent chance of an outbreak of COVID-19 were the state’s borders opened to the Northern Territory, South Australia or Queensland.
“(Mr McGowan) wants the federal government to keep paying the welfare to justify his decision to keep you locked in Western Australia.”
