E-Bike Conversion Build Test Ride - Bafang BBS02B 750W - 4.5 Miles
A quick 4.5 mile cycle to work where I left my car the other day. Since this is an ebike with a decent motor, you do not NEED to pedal as much as I do on this test ride (indicated by the constant bobbing). It's a mental thing for me, that if I am on a bicycle I feel like I need to pedal and put work in. I can easily put less effort in and still go like the wind.
The camera is a bit lower than I would like it to be due to mounting the GoPro upside down similar to how everybody else seems to mount it. I prefer it higher so any more videos will be from that point of view. Unfortunately I have no image stabalisation because its an old Hero4 Silver.
Overall the motor is GREAT! On the other hand my Halfords Crossfire3 is okay at best.
For reference, the cost of the kit came to a total of £770 from Amazon.co.uk.
A decent front torch cost £38 with 1000 lumens.
The battery mounts cost £4 for two per pack (TEMPORARY SOLUTION)
New pedals were £13 (had to buy because my old ones were seized or welded into the old crank arms).
Compare that to a constant monthly cost for the car. I basically make my money back in 2 months:
I pay £270 a month for the lease on my car
£60 - £100 in fuel
Annual tax and insurance and maintenance... It's expensive.
