Riding North America's Highest Road: Mount Evans on a Motorcycle | Colorado Scenic Byways

Mount Evans is the highest paved road in North America, and there’s no better way to see it than aboard a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Being one of 26 Scenic Byways in Colorado, the Mount Evans Scenic Byway just might be the most dangerous high altitude roadway in the state, with steep drop-offs and deteriorating road conditions above the treeline. The road reaches 14,130 feet above sea level at the summit, making it a bucket list ride for any motorcyclist! Colorado and the Rocky Mountains are filled with amazing motorcycle rides, but no motorcycle trip to the state is complete without a ride to the top of the world. For those faint of heart or who aren’t able to enter the fee area of the road, riding Squaw Pass from Bergen Park to Idaho Springs offers great views of the Continental Divide, and is one of my favorite motorcycle rides near Denver.

We’ll also check out Tommyknocker Brewery in Idaho Springs, one of my favorite places to take a day ride out of Denver in the Summer months.
