Lal Bhaji Recipe ❤️ | Childhood Favorite Lal Saag
Aaj bana rahe hain meri childhood favorite Lal Bhaji ❤️Rich in iron, loaded with calcium, high in fiber, and packed with antioxidants
Yeh simple aur comforting recipe mujhe bachpan ki yaad dila deti hai. US mein Lal Saag milna bahut rare hai, but one of my friends grew it in her backyard and shared it with me 🥹
Garlic, green chilies aur mustard oil ke saath bani yeh authentic style Lal Bhaji tastes absolutely amazing with garma garam roti or dal chawal 😍
Try this easy desi saag recipe and let me know if you’ve had Lal Bhaji growing up too ❤️
Ingredients:
1 large bunch Lal Bhaji / Lal Saag
2–3 green chilies
12–15 garlic cloves
1 large onion, roughly chopped
1 tomato, finely chopped
2 tbsp mustard oil (or any oil)
1 tsp cumin seeds
Pinch of hing (asafoetida)
2 dry red chilies
Salt to taste
Method:
Remove the leaves from the stems of the Lal Bhaji.
Wash thoroughly 3–4 times and drain well.
Finely chop the leaves.
Chop green chilies, garlic, onion, and tomato.
Heat mustard oil in a pan.
Add cumin seeds, hing, and dry red chilies.
Add garlic and green chilies and cook till garlic turns golden.
Add onions and sauté till light pink.
Add chopped Lal Bhaji and salt. Mix well and cook for 3–4 minutes.
Add tomatoes and mix again.
Cover and cook for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, till soft and cooked through.
Slightly dry out the moisture but do not make it completely dry.
Serve hot with roti or dal chawal ❤️
