Bye-lingual Challenge: UP Students Try to Speak Pure Filipino

Bilingual or bye-lingual?

We Filipinos are known for our natural bilingualism due to our Filipino- and English-based education. With K-12, the mother tongue has been introduced as well, resulting in multilinguals. After years of speaking these languages, we have even formed our own dialect known as TAGLISH.

But how good is bi/multilingualism?
Are we able to be proficient in all the languages, or does it lower our proficiency in each one?
Why do we resort to Taglish instead of just using one language?

Find out the sociolinguistic basis of using Taglish in the video below, where we test the skills of Iskos and Iskas!
