Resin Bound Driveway - Porous Paving MatsGrids

In this video, a domestic block-paved driveway is transformed into a highly attractive, permeable and incredibly sturdy resin bound surface. Utilising X-Grid, a plastic ground reinforcement grid, the sub-base for the resin is laid in JUST TWO HOURS, a fraction of the time of a traditional Tarmac or concrete base. This reduces cost, laying time and curing time meaning that the resin bound topping can be installed on top of the grid as soon as it's been laid and filled.

On this project X-Grid was laid by two groundworkers in two hours allowing for a much faster installation, cutting down on the amount of time on site. The X-Grid gravel retention cells are then filled with angular gravel and compacted using a vibroplate (whacker), the whole process taking less than half a day from lay to fill.
The resin bound aggregate is mixed with the binder and trowelled on to the solid sub-base and screeded smooth to form an attractive, functional and capable driveway.
