Skull8 is a tactical puzzle-exploration game where you venture through darkened maps filled with hidden dangers. The map consists of plains, impassable mountains, and monster-filled forests—all shrouded in darkness at the start.

Every time you move, a 3x3 area around your position is revealed, slowly unveiling what lies beyond. You might discover nothing—or encounter hearts (for healing), chests (for bonus points), relics (for power-ups), keys, gates, or even monsters.

If a monster is lurking just outside your visible range, a warning bell rings to alert you. You’ll need to deduce its exact location by moving cautiously and observing the signals. Accidentally stepping into a monster triggers a loss of 1 HP, but the threat is removed. Running out of HP ends the game.

Your goal is to find keys and activate gates to progress through levels, while optionally collecting bonus chests and powerful relics that grant effects like terrain destruction or immunity to monster damage.

However, the one-step movement system may feel sluggish over time, and the limited heart drops can make the game unforgiving during unlucky runs. Still, for players who enjoy stealthy, thoughtful gameplay in a compact grid, Skull8 offers a clever and tense experience.
