RFI Grant Highlight: Rural Community Serviceship Program

A project that is part of the Rural Futures Institute grant program has been having huge impact – both on rural communities and the student interns. The Rural Serviceship Program recruits students from Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program and Nebraska Human Resources Institute who are interested in leadership development and entrepreneurship. These students are placed in rural communities in teams of two to assist the community with a project specified by the community leadership. The students take an active role in participating in the communities during the course of their serviceship project.
