Three Fantastic Farms and Where to Find Them

Spring is in the air and Scotland’s countryside is calling. Where better to experience the joys of the season than on a day out or stay at one of the many working farms which welcome guests and visitors. Sounds appealing but not sure where to begin your search? We’ve rounded up three fantastic working farms to give you a preview of the wonderful family-friendly agritourism experiences you can expect. There’s Old Leckie Farm set in rural Stirlingshire where you can learn about sustainable farming on a farm tour while meeting Highland cattle, sheep, pigs and free-range hens. Depending on the time of year you and the kids might even be able to feed the new lambs! Then there’s Ardross Farm in Fife with its award-winning farm shop where you can get your hands on delectable home-grown produce. Last up is Craigduckie, also in Fife. Stay in one of their Shepherds’ huts and learn all there is to know about farming life while helping with feeding the chickens and more.
