We got a West Highland Terrier (Westie)

This little guy is London, he’s a West Highland Terrier or as they are more affectionately known, a Westy.

Our first experience with Westies came when we were house sitting in London. We looked after two Westies, Polly and Darcy. They were adorable and really affectionate.

Mr Darcy was an elder statesman and Polly was the young feisty one. They took us on walks, showed us around the local area and we even enjoyed a pint or two at their favourite pub.

When we realised it was time to get a dog, we initially wanted to adopt a rescue dog but there were no small dogs in any of the shelters. We live in an apartment so a large dog wasn’t an option or fair on them.

After some research, we found a certified breeder of Westies and because we had such a great experience with Polly and Darcy the decision to get a puppy was easy. Little did we know at the time how challenging it was going to be at the beginning.

So, this video is dedicated to what we’ve learned while having a West Highland Terrier puppy.
