I wanted to keep you in the loop of information as we master this new method of camp baking together. These new camp oven accessories will complete your baking kit. It's so nice knowing the temperature in your oven! You know when to add fuel or allow the flames to die down a bit.
I had a great time testing the Zebra Pot Oven Thermometer and Roof Rack Rack, I packed up a camp kitchen and hiked up into one of my favorite canyons, picked a nice spot by the creek and started cooking, I set up a Swedish Fire Torch pre-fuel in the Firebox, boiled about a gallon of water and cooked two ears of corn. Just as soon as the flames went out I switched to my Extended Grill Plate and Grilled a thick Rib Eye Steak, set it aside the corn on a plate next to the Firebox Stove to stay warm. Then I set up the Zebra 16cm Pot as a camp oven complete with thermometer and Roof Rack. I filled the rack with the nice big hot coals left behind by the Swedish Fire Torch then baked up some jumbo dinner rolls, which turned out great!
The meal was great! The steak was still a mid rare, yet stayed nice and hot next to the 5" Firebox Camp Stove.
