Street Fighter 6 is the latest entry of Capcom's long-running Street Fighter series of fighting games, released around early June 2023 to positive critical acclaim. As usual, gameplay closely follows standard mainline Street Fighter fare - neutral is mostly based on footsies, with slower movement being prevalent and good poking and spacing being more of an threat here compared to other fighting games.

Street Fighter 6 not only overhauls the Super Gauge from the previous games, now exclusively used for Super Arts (serving as the game’s super attacks), but also adds a new resource in the form of the Drive Gauge, which acts as a separate meter. You start each round refilled with six bars, which can be used for a variety of techniques. You refill your Drive Gauge not only passively but by also attacking the opponent and walking forward - likewise, you lose meter from the Drive Gauge by being attacked by opponents, in addition to using Drive Gauge-specific techniques. If your Drive Gauge is fully depleted during a match, you’ll temporarily enter the “Burnout” state, where you are unable to use any moves that use the Drive Gauge, you can get chip damage from special moves and Super Arts, and blocked attacks have longer blockstun.

These techniques includes the Drive Impact (an attack that uses two Drive Stocks and absorbs up to two hits, crumpling the opponent and allowing combos if used to punish their attacks in addition to wall-splatting the opponent if used in the corner), the Drive Parry (a parry-like stance that uses half a Drive Stock and can be held down (while gradually consuming Drive Stock), allowing you to punish the opponent using your own attacks easily (as pushstun is reduced from a Drive Parry in comparison to blocking the attack)), the Drive Rush (a quick dash that could be canceled from a Drive Parry (where it uses one Drive Stock) or as a move-cancelling technique from normal attacks for combo extensions (three Drive Stocks)), the Drive Reversal (a guard-cancel move costing two Drive Stocks), and Overdrive attacks (which functions as EX attacks and universally uses up two Drive Stocks).

Anyways, Street Fighter 6's Arcade Mode is customizeable - besides changing the difficulty, you can choose between having five or twelve opponents, as well as enabling or disabling story cutscenes and bonus games, the latter of which has you either smash a semi-truck to pieces or Drive Parry incoming basketballs (referencing Street Fighter II and III's bonus games respectively).

Ken's story is a continuation of the Street Fighter 6 prequel comics, where he went into hiding - leaving behind his family and business - after he was framed for a terrorist plot by JP, who is the game's overarching antagonist. The story takes place some time after Ken's escape - with his name cleared from his accused crimes, what better way for Ken to cope that things will never be the same again during the aftermath, other than to roam around the world and kick butt? JP then appears in the end of Ken's route, challenging him to a fight, with Ken's Story Mode ending leaving Ken pondering if he should kill JP as revenge.

Yeah, this takes a while. The staff credits covers everyone, including the staff behind the World Tour gamemode. The credits here also takes inspiration from Street Fighter IV's own end credits, which is interesting.

One final note: The Genbu Temple stage has some slowdown in Ken's intro, which isn't present in the Open Beta (I played the PC release for both that and the final game). Possible reasons include Denuvo Anti-Tamper tampering my performance (it isn't there in the Open Beta afaik), in which case: Why, Capcom, why?!
