THIS Is How Netflix Actually Works!

You tap play on Netflix, and in less than a second, an episode starts streaming.

That’s not magic, that’s TCP/IP doing its job perfectly.

This is how it works, layer by layer.

1. Network Access Layer: This is the entry point. Your device connects to the internet using Wi-Fi or mobile data. If this layer fails, nothing even starts.

2. Internet Layer: Your device has an IP address; Netflix servers have theirs. Routers read these addresses and guide your request across the internet until it reaches Netflix.

3. Transport Layer: The video doesn’t travel as one big file. It’s split into small packets that arrive in random order. Your device’s job is to collect and organize them.

4. Application Layer: This layer handles communication rules. DNS finds the right Netflix server, HTTPS delivers the video securely, and keeps everything protected.

All layers work together so Netflix can load the UI, control, subtitles, and decode the video, so it can play the episode smoothly.
