Episode 7: Make It Your Own, The Soldotna Crop | Edible Thoughts Makes
Hello!
Welcome to Edible Thoughts Makes. My name is Stephanie and this video is all about the seven Soldotna Crops I made! I talk about how to make this sweater your own, but the tips apply to any pattern. Let me know in the comments if the tips help you and share links to your projects - I would love to see them.
Closed captioning and video descriptions are included for accessibility (choose the non-auto-generated option). If HD-viewing is an option, select that for best resolution.
Cheers!
Stephanie
P.S. - Oops. At 3:45 I said out of the 7 sizes I made the first two sizes right after I said there were 10 sizes in the pattern. There are 10 sizes in the pattern, not 7!
P.P.S.- Credit to yy_dollie on IG for the idea to cast on the first increase number for the neckline. I used it on the 7th Soldotna crop, Mistletoe. Thanks for a lovely modification tip!!
P.P.P.S.- I can't believe I forgot to include this tip in the video!!! If a pattern doesn't give you the total number of increases you should have at the end of an increase round, WRITE IT DOWN!! This is a great way to reassure yourself you're on the right track and minimizes frogging later (at least for stitch count reasons). I write it down on the colorwork chart for easy reference. The number of stitches increased are the same within one size for each increase round. So for example, if you increase by 20 stitches, for each increase round, it'll add in another 20 stitches. Double check your math (before knitting) by making sure you end up with the final stitch count per pattern. I always write this down if a pattern doesn't include it. Saves a lot of headache later and is a great reassurance that I'm on track!! Happy knitting!
