Baby Gorilla - Kayembe, #1A, #gorillas

This is the short version of my first video in a series that features the new baby gorilla at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. In this video he is 15 weeks old. The surrogate mother is Fredrika (Freddie). The birth mother (Nneka) did not show proper maternal care after the birth. Luckily, Freddie, who raised 4 infants of her own, stepped in and has taken care of him ever since. At this time, Kayembe is bottle fed by zoo staff. He receives formula and orangutan milk. Kayembe was the first gorilla zoo born in Cleveland.
