Pranayama is very important. Long breath gives a long and healthy life. Short breath, short life. You have heard about yogis and saints from ancient times living for many many years. You have seen newspaper articles about people living for 130 years and so on. Long breath means more oxygen, more happiness, less worries and better control over senses. Whoever practices long breathing does not get tired easily. We face so many problems in our life. Office problems, house problems, money problems, health problems, mental problems....and so on. It is normal for human beings. When you face a problem, or in a difficult situation, sit for five or ten minutes, do five or ten cycles of pranayama, and then take decisions to solve the problem. It helps you immensely. It gives you success, or the necessary mental strength and balance to deal with it, as not all problems can be solved at once. It’s not a miracle. It’s not magic. Regular practice of pranayama helps your health and elevates your meditation. Practice and you will find it for yourself.
