Trump to host first Gaza peace board meeting Thursday with $5bn pledged

US President Donald Trump is preparing to host the first meeting of his newly established Board of Peace on Thursday to oversee Gaza's reconstruction, security and governance following Israel's war. Membership costs $1bn for a permanent seat, and Trump says members have already pledged $5bn and thousands of personnel to rebuild the Strip.
Key European allies, including France, the United Kingdom, Germany and Poland, have declined to join, fearing the board undermines the United Nations and expressing concern over Trump's leadership and Russia's participation.
