POV Chase Scene Filmmaking (Neo-Noir Sci-Fi) | Indie Film BTS – FLICKER

What does a POV chase scene actually look like when you’re making an indie sci-fi film with no CGI, minimal crew, and real alley locations?
This is a behind-the-scenes look at FLICKER, our neo-noir sci-fi project — filmed during a high-energy POV alley chase using a chest-rigged camera for immersive action.
We strapped a chest rig onto Ava (Darcy) for the alley run with Bo (Rachel), capturing real shoulder sway, parallax, and speed — the kind of movement you feel, not fake in post.
🎥 What you’ll see in this BTS:
• POV chest-rig cinematography for immersive chase scenes
• Why we switched from a Blackmagic URSA to an iPhone rig for speed, weight, and agility
• Shooting 4K/60 run-and-gun without slowing the scene
• Practical alley lighting + a single LED tube (no CGI, all in-camera)
• Blocking built around breath counts, corner reveals, and lens checks
• The infamous on-set “smudge protocol”
• Real indie chaos — cast commentary included
Shot entirely on location in Visalia, California, using wet pavement, noir textures, and practical lighting to sell the neo-noir sci-fi look.
This is how indie films actually get made — fast, messy, creative, and real.
