Silver mirror test using Tollen's reagent
Detecting the presence of carbonyl group in Aldehydes using Tollen's reagent. This is a qualitative laboratory test used to distinguish between an aldehyde and a ketone. A positive test with Tollen's reagent is indicated by the precipitation of elemental silver , often producing a characteristic "silver mirror" on the inner surface of the reaction vessel
