Cleft lip and palate can take make forms: bilateral or unilateral, complete or incomplete. Many cases of cleft lip are diagnosed before birth using advanced imaging tests, and the pediatric plastic surgeons in CHOP's Cleft Lip and Palate Program do more than 1,000 surgeries related to cleft lip and palate each year.
