Why We Need To Re-write The Workplace Rules To Advance Equality | Shelley Zalis | TEDxNashvilleWomen

Women now enter the workforce at an equal rate to men, yet less than 5% of CEOs at Fortune 500 companies are women. Market research pioneer and gender equality activist Shelley Zalis believes it's time to re-write the rules of the workplace, which were written 100 years ago by men and for men. Rather than conform to the corporate rules, we need to transform them. Shelley Zalis is a thought leader for advancing equality in the workplace. The first female chief executive in the research industry's top 25, she devotes herself to mentoring women. As CEO of The Female Quotient, she is co-founder of #SeeHer, a movement led by the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) to increase the percentage of accurate portrayals of women and girls in advertising and media. She is also on the board of directors for MAKERS. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
