KZN Floods I King Cetshwayo mayor Thamsanqa Ntuli on the extent of damage in his district

The process of rebuilding will continue in KwaZulu-Natal and government will assist those affected. That's the commitment from KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala. But, he also says his government now has the added responsibility of increasing its efforts. This comes on the back of more rainfall in the province in the last few days. Zikalala and other officials visited parts of the province that have been affected by the latest rainfall. The premier says his team is assessing the situation in order to ascertain the extent of the relief needed.
At the same time, a search is under way in uMlazi township in Durban for a missing child. Hundreds of people have been evacuated to safety following the recent heavy rains. The province is still restoring damaged infrastructure and making plans to accommodate people who were displaced after last month's deadly floods.
For more on the latest flooding we cross to SABC News reporter Simphiwe Makhanya who is in the Bluff area
