Seasoning your Grill - INITIAL FIRING for TRAEGER Grills

How to season your Traeger grill and what you should do first on your new grill! Watch this video to find out!

Step 1: Unit is OFF "O"
Step 2: Plug in power cord
Step 3: Fill the hopper with pellets
Step 4: Power ON the unit "I"
Step 5: Press any button to turn on
Step 6: Press "MENU" button
Step 7: Rotate dial clockwise to "Auger" and press the dial to select
Step 8: Press on the dial to select "Prime Auger"
(If you do not see any pellets in the fire pot. Repeat Step 8. Once about 5 pellets are in the fire pot. Select "Done" by pressing the dial.)
Step 9: Press the dial to select "Done"
Step 10: Put everything together & close the lid.
Step 11: Rotate dial clockwise to 350°F / 117°C and press the dial to set temperature.
Step 12: Push "IGNITE"
Step 13: When the temperature reaches 350°F, run for 20 minutes.
Step 14: After 20 minutes, turn the dial to increase to MAX or 500°F and press dial to set temperature.
Step 15: When the temperature reaches max or 500°F, run for an additional 30 minutes.
Step 16: Shutdown the grill by push and holding the dial for 3 seconds.
*For an Ironwood or Timberline, press the Standby button for three seconds to initiate the shutdown cycle.*

Seasoning is now complete but you should clean out the ashes in the fire pit and inside the grill before your cook off!

Now you're ready to create mouthwatering brisket, fall-off-the-bone baby-back ribs, and juicy pulled pork!
