Some of us may remember the popular 80s hit movie War Games.

An entertaining look at how cyber manipulation could start a world war.

But the United States says it takes cyber security seriously, making it a top priority for national security.

Lately, US officials have been accusing China of breaking into thousands of business and government computers to mine information.

The problem is a lot of the computers that are being hacked have parts from China.

Now the US wants to limit those Chinese imports.

Many US officials believe that China has become ground zero for a vast number of cyber attacks on US computers. Experts at the Pentagon report that hackers have targeted top US businesses and other computers connected to the highest level of politics for trade secrets.

Washington insiders say the U.S. Government is exploring ways to impose tariffs and other restrictions on China and its top technology firms.

A controversial report from a security firm called Mandiant even linked some of the cyber attacks to the Chinese military. Reports such as these put private industry pressure on the government for drastic measures as Keith Alexander, head of cyber security command has testified in front of Congress.

But Chinese officials have fired back against US accusations. Chinese officials say the US is the main instigator of cyber attacks on China and other countries--even creating some of the most invasive computer viruses.

As the US considers limiting the import of Chinese goods to choke off the number of cyber attacks in the US, the members of the Obama administration including the president himself have communicated with China about cyber security. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew addressed the issue with his counterpart in Beijing this month. .
