Julian Alaphilippe Outrageous Sprint Deviation at Liege Bastogne Liege 2020 | Fair Punishment?

Liege Bastogne Liege was an absolute cracker in the last 20km, with a strong group of the favourites Pogacar, Roglic, Alaphilippe and Hirschi going clear. Unfortunately there was mounds of controversy at the finish as Alaphilippe deviated from his line on the right hand barrier across Marc Hirschi, to deny Hirschi the chance of sprinting for the victory. Alaphilippe was eventually relegated from 2nd to 5th (after he lost on the line to Roglic, celebrating too early). In this video I analyse the deviation as well as whether the punishment and existing rules are sufficient.
