SHRIKHAND MAHADEV: Incredible India || Himachal Pradesh ||

Shrikhand Mahadev trek, in Himachal Pradesh, is usually done in the month of June and July. We took this expedition in the month of August.2018. Since, the route via Nirmand (Kullu) was restricted by the government due to landslides, we took a different route via Fancha, Rampur (Shimla).

The route from Fancha to Shrikhand Mahadev is 18 km. This trek is considered to be one of the toughest treks in India. There are only two transit camps on the way, one at Sapava and the other at Majbaun.

RECOMMENDATIONS :
--The trek is difficult and challenging, hence, physical fitness is a must before taking the journey.
--Travel light with basic requirements. People, who desire good sleep at the transit camp, need to carry their sleeping bags.
--Drinking water is available at natural resources in Sapava, Bhatto Pani and Sakranda Dhar. Please carry empty bottles with you to keep them filled for journey.
--You are requested to avoid littering on the way as heavens are not meant to be spoiled.
--Trekkers must own a good pair of trekking shoes with a formidable grip to walk over the slippery rocks, slush and glaciers.
--Yellow arrow marks put on the way must be followed strictly to reach the destination.
--A strong stick must be carried along for walking with a good balance in the terrain.
--It is advisable to carry raincoats/umbrellas as rain is unpredictable in the mountains.
--Please carry 2 kg rice and 1 Kg pulses to donate at Majbaun transit camp. Majbaun camp is run by a priest. There are no charges for food and shelter at Majbaun , however, eatables as mentioned above may be donated to keep the cycle going.
--Last but not the least, it is not just a trek but a transformation. Take this trek and feel it.
