Let's Play Dawn of War Soulstorm: Eldar Part 15 ( Lacunae )

You start this mission without a base or any builders. Instead you begin with your Chaos Lord, your Honor Guard, a few additional squads, and a larger than usual amount of Requisition and Power.

Your first objective is to destroy the Dark Eldar cages scattered around the lower part of the map. Each cage you destroy releases a captured infantry squad that immediately joins your army. These extra squads will quickly increase your forces and are essential for surviving the early stage of the mission.

Avoid attacking the two smaller Dark Eldar bases located in the southwest and eastern sections of the map at the beginning. These outposts are defended by Scourges, two Ravagers and a Talos, which are more than strong enough to wipe out your starting army if you attack too early.

Continue clearing cages and advancing toward the center of the map. Once you reach the central area you will gain access to several Strategic Points and receive two builders, allowing you to finally establish a base.

From here the mission becomes much more standard. Build up your economy, expand your army and prepare for periodic attacks from the Dark Eldar bases while you strengthen your defenses.

Your main objective is to destroy the Dais of Destruction, the Dark Eldar relic unit located in the main base in the northwest corner of the map.

One important mechanic of this mission is that the Dais of Destruction will periodically leave its base and attack you directly. You can see it moving across the map when this happens. However, once its health drops to about half, it will retreat back to its base. Since the Dais is extremely fast, chasing it down while weakened is usually not possible.

If you have access to vehicle-stunning abilities, this mission becomes much easier. Build a strong anti-vehicle army, bring a few units capable of stunning vehicles, and wait for the Dais to attack your base. Once it arrives, focus all firepower on it and keep it stunned so it cannot escape. Destroying it immediately wins the mission.

If you do not have a reliable stun ability, you will need to fight your way through the Dark Eldar bases and push into the northwest stronghold to destroy the Dais directly.

Occasionally the Dais may glitch and get stuck while returning to its base, which allows you to easily destroy it before it can escape.
