I picked up the Classic Moc Toe in Red Wing's newest leather (released in spring 2021): the Slate Muleskinner.

I didn't discuss this in the video explicitly, but there was almost no break in period. I went on a big hike pretty soon after first trying these boots on, and even on a six mile walk with lots of inclines and declines, I had no trouble with blisters.

I've heard a different story with the Red Wing 875 and the Red Wing 1907, and if you've had a tough experience with either of those boots, let me know in the comments below.

Speaking of the Red Wing 875 and the Red Wing 1907, I briefly cover both of those boots as they're the most popular versions of the Red Wing Classic Moc Toe boot.

The Red Wing 875 is made with Oro Legacy leather, which has a distinctive orange color that develops a patina very quickly. The Red Wing 1907 is a bit different as its built on a no. 45 last and features a storm welt.
