@RawTraveler This video explains how to add an authorized user to one of your Chase credit cards through the chase.com web site. The reason why you should add an authorized user to your Chase credit card (specifically the Chase Sapphire Preferred, Chase Sapphire Reserve, Chase Ink Preferred and Chase Ink Premier cards) is so that you can transfer your Ultimate Rewards points from your account to another partner's account on somebody else's name. With United airlines, I know that once you do one transfer to another authorized user, you are not able to do another transfer of your Ultimate Rewards points to anybody else except your own United Mileage Plus account or the original authorized user you transferred points to before. You can change the authorized user in your Chase account but United will not allow the transfer of Ultimate Rewards to their Mileage Plus account. Keep this in mind when you do this for the first time.
