1950, abril 23: Se inician las Ventas del Reparto Villanueva, creado por los hermanos Garrigó Artigas y su asociado José Badía Ferrer al este del original entorno geográfico de Santiago. Fue llamado así por el Sr. Faustino Garrigó en honor al lugar de su propio nacimiento y el de su padre Don José Garrigó y Artigas: Vilanova i la Geltrú, en Cataluña, España ("Vilanova" es "Villanueva" en el idioma catalán). Podemos añadir que la vía principal del reparto, la calle Jardín, debe su nombre al "carrer Jardí", o "calle Jardín", de Vilanova, donde nacieran en el No. 15 ó 12 Don José y su hijo Faustino.
