National Anthem of Ireland- Amhrán na bhFiann
I understand that the chorus is the official of this song is the official national anthem of Ireland. However, I thought that this version was nice, so I used this one despite having two verses instead of three.
English:
"Amhrán na bhFiann" (Irish pronunciation: [ˈəuɾˠaːn̪ˠ n̪ˠə ˈvʲiːən̪ˠ]), called "The Soldier's Song" in English, is the Irish national anthem. The music was composed by Peadar Kearney and Patrick Heeney, the original English lyrics by Kearney, and the Irish-language translation, now usually heard, by Liam Ó Rinn. The song has three verses, but only the choral refrain has been officially designated the national anthem.
The Presidential Salute, played when the President of Ireland arrives at an official engagement, consists of the first four bars of the national anthem immediately followed by the last five.[1]
Gaeilge:
Is é Amhrán na bhFiann (Béarla: The Soldiers' Song) amhrán náisiúnta na hÉireann. Scríobh Peadar Ó Cearnaigh na liricí, agus chum Patrick Heaney an port. Ba i mBéarla a scríobhadh na liricí ar dtús, ach is é an leagan Gaeilge is gnách a chloisteáil inniu. Ní chantar ach an curfá de ghnáth agus is ar éigean go bhfuil an chuid eile den amhrán ar eolas ag duine ar bith. Tá blas láidir Ghaeilge na Mumhan ar na líricí, agus is minic nach féidir an fonn a choinneáil ach an t-amhrán a chanadh sa chanúint seo. Mar shampla, nuair a chantar ar ardaibh sléibhe, is gá an -bh- san fhocal sléibhe a bhá go hiomlán, mar a dhéantar leis an -bh-/-mh- i nGaeilge na Mumhan ar lorg an ghuta fhada.
