New York Yankees Vs. Atlanta Braves | Game Highlights | 8/12/20

THAT’S A SWEEP! Boy did we need that. The Yankees win tonight 6-3 to complete the mini-sweep of the two-game set against the Atlanta Braves. I can’t begin anywhere else other than CLINT FRAZIER. After a frustrating demotion to the Alternate Site the first week of the season, the 25-year old was finally recalled to the Bronx and he wasted no time showing off his talent. He tallied three hits including a HOME RUN in his very first at-bat. There’s no denying Clint is an electric player with a world’s worth of ability, but the Yankees incredible depth kept him from being able to show it off for a long period of time. However, with Giancarlo Stanton out and Frazier now being 25 years of age, he may have found his opportunity and one game in, he certainly made the most of it. It’s gonna be real exciting to see what he does this season if given the proper playing time.

The Bombers’ offense wasn’t limited to just Clint Frazier, however, as Gary Sanchez crushed his 2nd homer of the season, Aaron Hicks had an RBI double, same did Gleyber Torres, and both DJLM and Luke Voit knocked in RBI singles.

Masahiro Tanaka got the start and wasn’t too sharp. If it weren’t for Aaron Hicks robbing what would have been a two-run homer in the 1st, he would have allowed four runs on the night. Instead, he finishes with a final line of 4 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 2 BB, 3 K’s. So, overall — not too shabby.

The Yankees improve to 12-6 heading into tomorrow’s off day before the Boston Red Sox come to town Friday night to begin a four-game set in the Bronx. LET’S GO YANKEES!
