Before Edward Mazria helped launch Architecture 2030 in 2002, the industry had little to no impetus to act on climate change. Then Edward, with a background in sustainable design, discovered architecture’s outsized role in emissions as designers of the built environment. By making these findings public, he spurred the industry to change its approach to emissions—and began helping the industry get to zero climate emissions by 2030.
